The course is designed to give students the basic skills and underpinning knowledge to prepare them for work in the fabrication industry. It develops competency in sheet metal and welding skills and provides underpinning knowledge so that they will be able to work safely in that environment. This course is suitable for school leavers who have an interest in fabrication and may want a career in the fabrication and welding industry. The course develops practical skills and covers the theoretical aspects in general of the fabrication and welding: * Hand Fitting * Gas Welding * Working Safely in an Engineering Environment * Working Effectively and Efficiently Engineering * Using and Communicating Technical Information * MIG Welding * Sheet metal fabrication All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills including maths and English.
