An applied alternative to studying ICT and assessed through portfolio work, this course will allow students to develop skills essential to many jobs and other A-level subjects. This course can be studied as a Subsidiary diploma (equivalent to one A-level) or as a full Diploma (equivalent to two A-levels). The Subsidiary Diploma (equivalent to one A-level) includes; -Investigating communication and employability skills for IT -Building and upgrading a computer system -Developing photographs and original graphic images for a client. The Diploma (equivalent to two A-levels) includes; -All of the Subsidiary units shown above, plus; -Investigating information systems -Project planning a fully interactive multimedia system -Advanced spreadsheet and database skills -Technical units including an introduction to programming.
