This course encourages the investigation and study of Information and Communication Technology in a variety of contexts, for example home, school, recreation, community, business and industry. There is an emphasis on the development of a wide range of practical skills, which can then be tailored to perform useful tasks. You will see how Information and Communication Technology is an integral part of modern society. You will gain skills and knowledge which can be applied to a variety of situations. You will use ICT to find, collect, process and present information, learn about Hardware and Software and use ICT to solve problems. During the course you will gain skills in Databases, Spreadsheets, Presentation software and Desk Top Publishing software. The assessment is through a two hour exam (40% of overall grade) and two coursework tasks. Coursework is 60% of the overall grade.
