This level 5 qualification aims to provide practising managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as workplace coaches and mentors as part of their usual work role. By the end of the training participants will be able to; * Coach/mentor staff to achieve their potential * Present a business case for coaching or mentoring * Communicate effectively as a management coach * Successfully undertake 12 hours coaching/mentoring in the workplace * Complete a diary reflecting on their coaching/mentoring practice * Define actions to improve coaching/mentoring practice. The course comprises three mandatory units which enable participants to understand, and demonstrate knowledge and skills in workplace coaching and mentoring : * In unit 1 participants explore the characteristics of effective coaches and mentors, going on to present a business case for using coaching or mentoring within your organisation. * In the second unit, participants review their own avility as a management coach or mentor, exploring their ethical and moral views as well as building communication skills. * During the final mandatory unit, participants plan and deliver a short coaching or mentoring programme in line with their organisation, divisional or team goals.
