The construction sector employs some 8% of the UK workforce. Demand for young, qualified tradespeople is strong, with an estimated 180,000 new bricklayers needed by 2018 if demand for construction is to be met. Good bricklayers are practical people who enjoy working outdoors and are happy to work at height. They also take pride in their work, knowing it will be on show for years to come.
