Planning for Work

This is an ideal course for anyone who is thinking about looking for work or learning but who may feel anxious that they have been out of the job market for some time. Learning takes place in a friendly and informal setting with a tutor helping you. As a group you will decide what topics you feel it is important to look at. Previous groups have covered understanding the term Job Ready Computer skills volunteering building confidence and self -esteem CV writing and hints and tips on those vital interview skills. You will learn how to identify your skills and strengths to develop an action plan. What experience or qualification do I need to join this course? ? No formal qualifications are required ? No prior knowledge of subject required The course is particularly suitable for people who: ? have lost confidence in their abilities due to illness redundancy a long career break or other stressffe events ? want to change their career and/or improve their job prospects What is the course about? ? Why confidence is important ? Identifying your skills & strengths ? Identifying suitable career options ? Developing computer confidence ? Job Centre question & answer session ? Developing your interview skills For the first session you will need: Nothing - everything will be provided but it may be useful to bring a pen and paper to make notes. How will I know how I am getting on? Your progress and achievements will be recognised and recorded throughout your course in a number of ways. For example: ? Feedback from tutor ? Group discussions and practical activities ? < > A certificate of attendance if required Accreditation: On successful completion of this course a certificate will be issued by the AIM Awarding Body.
