The apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following five components: 1. Full C&G 2357 - which consists of 9 theory units, 8 practical units including an Electrotechnical Occupational Competence unit for which the AM2 is the assessment 2. Functional Skills: Level 2 Maths, Level 2 English & Level 2 ICT 3. Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR): mapped into the theory units 4. Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS): mapped into the theory units 5. Understanding the Fundamental Principles and Requirements of Environmental Technology Systems Units include the following: ?Ensure safe site working ?Environmental legislation, working practices and environmental technology systems ?Oversee and organise the working environment ?Install wiring systems, electrotechnical equipment and systems ?Terminate and connect conductors, cables and cords in electrical systems ?Inspect, test, commissioning and certification of electrotechnical systems and equipment ?Diagnose and correct electrical faults in electrotechnical systems and equipment ?Design, build, install and maintain electrical equipment and systems ?Plan, prepare and install wiring systems and associated equipment in buildings, structures and the environment.
