Politics is an essential aspect of social life. Whenever interaction takes place politics is never far away. Politics arises from the different beliefs ideas and interests that we hold. The conflict that can emerge from these competing interests is managed through politics. The study of Government and Politics enables students to gain a greater understanding of political life and the political systems of the UK and of the wider world. You will study from a range of topics selected from the nature of democracy and political participation key institutions and principles of UK government global politics and global political issues.
