Sculpture - Beginners & Improvers

UPDATED 20160503 12:57:27

This flexible course is designed for those who have an interest both in art and in practical skills with the idea of combining the two. You will learn how to work with wire to form armatures to support your work. You will learn how to work with a variety of materials to create 3D models and how to cast an object in several materials such as alginate, plaster and silicone. There will also be an introduction to hand building with clay, wax, or plastilline. The tutor will give one to one support to help you turn your idea, sketch or image into a 3D reality. There will be regular group discussions on the works in progress and plenty of demonstrations of techniques. The overall aim is to build learners confidence and extend the learners perception of 3D, and how to make concrete their ideas. Please note that we will not be making life size models.
