During this course learners will develop a number of skills including:- Explore how to cut and shape ceramic and glass mosaic tiles. - Select appropriate materials for interior and exterior projects. - Grouting- Understand the differences between the indirect and direct methods. - Create an individual project with the help of the tutor.- Research, design, make and evaluate an individual project

Entry requirements

It is essential that learners wear closed toe shoes and bring an apron or old clothes as grouting can be messy work. The tutor will provide all tools and equipment for use in the classroom, including a range of mosaic cutting tools, safety goggle/gloves, adhesive, grouts and backing board. Some tiles will also be provided (enough to create a 30cm x 30cm panel) The tutor will advise where to purchase additional materials for larger projects.(If you already have a pair of Leponitt Glass Mosaic Cutters approximately 25 or generic double wheel glass mosaic cutter approximately 10 please bring with you)A sketch book and pencil plus photos/pictures for inspiration would also be useful tools.
