The aim of the course is to extend language skills to work towards fluency and accuracy.Course content and learning goals will be discussed at the first session, so that they can be tailored to the needs and interests of the group.You will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues. Topics at the higher levels cover a wide range of subjects and may include the following: discussion of news and current affairs; films, plays, books, songs, humour; discovering regions of the world in which the language is spoken and their customs and traditions; learning how to deal with practical aspects of daily life overseas: travelling, working and retiring in the country. Different topics are covered each term. Sessions are lively and varied and draw on a range of authentic sources from articles in the press, internet and TV to extend your reading and listening skills. Vocabulary, grammar and lexical structures will be addressed in context.
