Exercise - Keep Fit - For the Retired

The aim of this course is to improve fitness, co-ordination, strength and mobility. This course has been designed for learners who can no longer do floor work. You will work within your own range of ability in standing positions/with chair support and sitting on chairs. Exercises are aimed at improving cardiovascular fitness and coordination, hip, knee and shoulder mobility as well as strengthening the abdominal muscles and the upper back. You will also improve your balance and posture. You will work on stretching exercises for the whole body, particularly the lower back.A variety of equipment eg soft balls and balloons will be used and music to enjoy and support the rhythm of the movements.
