Hot Stones Massage

Hot Stone Massage uses water-heated basalt lava stones of varying sizes in combination with traditional massage movements. The heat / energy from the stones penetrates deep in to the tissues and, combined with the chakra stones, balances mind, body and spirit for a truly amazing massage experience. Course content includes: * Brief history of stone massage * Effects and benefits / Which stones to use and why * Health and safety, sterilisation and hygiene * Preparation / Consultation skills * Contra-indications and contra-actions * A range of traditional massage movements and techniques * Chakra balancing * After-care and home-care advice * Advice on insurance and suppliers * Practical tuition, guidance and support throughout the course To complete this course you will be expected to actively participate in the hands-on training. The assessment will be at the end of the day. After completing this course you will have the knowledge to give professional Hot Stone Massage Therapy. Tameside College will provide the stones, heaters, therapy beds, towels, etc. to use on the day and you will work in pairs to complete the massage on each other. The day will be fun, friendly and informal.
