Introduction to Vocational Studies

This course provides a basis for those wanting to engage in further education and explore vocational options whilst building their confidence, self esteem and interpersonal skills. It gives students a chance to develop their skills in career planning, job search and interview techniques, whilst exploring vocational options.

Name: Introduction to Vocational Studies Qualification title: Diploma in Skills for Further Learning and Employment (Entry 3) (QCF) Qualification type: NVQ and relevant components Assessment Students will create a portfolio of evidence which will include presentations, assignments and workbooks. English and maths are assessed via externally set assessments taken under supervised conditions at entry level these are internally marked and at level 1 and above they are externally marked. Entry requirements

You will be required to purchase and maintain the equipment appropriate to the vocational area you are studying. For example if you choose to study animal care you will need to buy a student sweatshirt which must be worn for animal handling sessions. Some other vocational areas may require students to wear purchase and maintain a uniform, or other equipment further information will be given when you confirm the vocational areas you wish to study .
