The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Certificate in Children's Play, Learning and Development has been developed to reflect recent thinking and research in the sector and learners will be able to gain knowledge and understanding of child development for the age range of birth up to eight years. The course introduces you to work with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the childcare sector. You will complete units of study such as Patterns of Child Development and Promoting Children's Development through play. Learning is through a student centred approach including a variety of individual and group activities, practical sessions, presentations and the use of ICT to support research. Educational visits to local exhibitions and guest presenters speaking about a variety of topics enrich the learning experience.
