This is an untaught unit where students are undertaking their own choice of media investigation and related practical production linked to either genre, narrative or representation. Unit 4: Media-Text, Industry and Audience This unit is designed to develop candidates' understanding of the connections between different elements of the specification and to develop their knowledge and understanding of the relationship between media texts, their audiences and the industries which produce and distribute them. You need to be able to demonstrate involvement in activities such as video work, film analysis and participation in magazine production. Media is a very good qualification for entering related courses in Higher Education. Career opportunities include; advertising, journalism, editorial teams and teaching.
