You will cover Taps (how to strip them down, reseat them and how to change them) How to fit cisterns and WCs How to fit a washbasin How to repair leaking pipes What fittings and tools you will need to carry out your own plumbing How to save money on costly repairs on maintenance around your own home. A small toolkit will be required. This will be discussed at the beginning of the course. Personal Safety Requirements You will need to wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty, preferably overalls but not man-made fibres. Solid shoes (ideally with a steel toe cap) that provide some protection for your feet are advisable. Your tutor will provide additional information if you are unsure. Additional costs (over and above the published fee) An approximate expenditure on materials will be about GBP10 for the course. All materials costs to be paid direct to the tutor. Notepad and pen. A small toolkit will be required. This will be discussed at the beginning of the course. Learners may also wish to buy additional tools for their toolkits as the course progresses.
