"AS Interpreting Drama - Students must develop knowledge and understanding of the following analytical framework for making, performing, interpreting and understanding drama and theatre. The unit is assessed by a 1 hour 45 minute, open book, written exam. AS Process & Performance (practical) - Each student must choose to be assessed as a: performer, lighting designer, sound designer, set designer, costume designer, puppet designer or director. This unit is assessed by performance of an extract and a portfolio. Approaches to Learning: * Visiting the theatre and analysing performances * Studying plays by performing them practically and exploring the theory behind them. * Developing essay style . * Creating pieces of theatre (both scripted and devised) and bringing them to life showing an awareness of the theory behind them. Who is this course aimed at: Students who are interested in performing in pieces of the theatre and studying practitioners and styles of theatre."
