The hairdressing level 3 NVQ/SVQ consists of 9 units, 4 mandatory units plus 5 optional units to achieve the full NVQ/SVQ Mandatory units Unit G22 Monitor procedures to safely control work operations Unit G18 promote additional products or services to clients Unit G21 Provide hairdressing consultation services Unit GH16 Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques Plus 5 of the following optional units, only 1 of which may be chosen from option2. All optional units can be chosen from option group 1 if desired. Group 1 Unit GH17 Colour hair using a variety of techniques Unit Gh18 Provide colour correction services Unit GH19 Creatively style and dress hair Unit Gh20 Creatively dress long hair Unit Gh21 Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills Unit GH22 Create a variety of permed effects Group 2 Unit GH11 Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business Unit G19 support client service improvements Unit H32 Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities. Course Objectives - To carry out a high standard of advanced hairdressing skills - To be aware of current fashion trends - To supervise other team members - To interpret techniques creatively - To be aware of and use new technology used by the industry. The course consists of 2 hours theory and 4 hours practical work per week. You will need to complete written and essential knowledge questions. It could also include an external visit to either a hair show or leading manufactures studio. You will need to produce mini projects and participates in competition work., and an end of year hair show or photo shoot, all of which will add to your CV and provide you with good industry practice. This course can lead you onto your future goals and aspirations, such as working on a cruise ship or teaching.
