This is the hospitality industry's advanced professional qualification for chefs and cooks who have already achieved a professional cookery qualification at level 2 or equivalent or who have the necessary skill level. The units reflect the more developed skills that chefs need at this level. The emphasis at level 3 is on professional cookery with units that demonstrate chefs can prepare and cook a wide range of complex dishes. This NVQ level three diploma is sufficiently flexible to encompass the majority of ethnic cuisine advanced cookery methods. This professional NVQ level 3 diploma in Professional Cookery allows learners to train while they work and there are NVQ units to match their normal job role through an apprenticeship programme.
