Draping on the Stand

UPDATED 20160421 12:16:16

Draping on the stand, or modelling as it is also known, was developed to create patterns and garments before methods of production became industrialised and it still continues to be used in the production of couture garments and when draped shapes are fashionable., , It is a very useful method to further knowledge of design and proportion, offering increased creativity and an easy way to understand how 2D shapes translate to a 3D garment. It is also effective in assessing how different fabrics behave. , , A different theme will be taught each term: autumn - skirts, spring - tops, summer - dresses. Each term exists as a separate course and can be taken as such or you may wish to enrol on more than one to build your knowledge and skills to a more advanced level. To achieve the learning outcomes each term, you must complete modules 1 and 2.,
