City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Professional Body Massage Therapy

This course is for holders of the C&G Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology who wish to become professional Massage Therapists. Successful completion through continuous assessment and examination leads to an internationally recognised qualification, mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Massage Therapy and meets nationally agreed Core Curriculum of the General Council for Massage Therapy. Upon graduation you will be invited to join the Aromatherapy and Allied Practitioner's Association (AAPA) as a full member (see AAPA.org.uk). You will also be able to register with either the CNHC or GRCCT (the UK regulatory bodies). There are day and evening session available for this course. Entry requirements

Uniform: white tunic and dark trousers, long hair to be tied back, short nails (no nail varnish), no jewellery., Equipment: 2-bath sheets, 3 smaller towels, 1-couch cover with facehole (all in pastel or white), details to be confirmed at the first lesson. Sweet almond and Grapeseed oils will need to be purchased over the duration of the course. A massage table will be needed for case studies/home practice but is not needed in college. You should budget £200-£500 for a table and equipment. You will need to bring pens and paper and a folder in which to keep your handouts. You will need other stationery items during the course, which your tutors will explain to you and it is often a good idea to have a set of colouring pencils. You will also need to purchase some text books which your tutors will advise you on at your first lesson.
