This Sport and Football BTEC Level 2 Diploma is aimed at young people who wish to study sports and leisure in a professional vocational sports setting based at Leyton Orient Football Club and the Score Sports Complex. You will learn about different aspects of the Sports industry from fitness training and understanding how the body works, to preparing to coach a range of sports activities, as well as organising sports events. In addition to this there will be opportunities for work experience and volunteer placements, enabling you to gain further coaching qualifications. You will also be given the opportunity to play football, or other sports for our Leyton Orient College Teams in regional and London based leagues. Football students will receive 6 hours of coaching from Leyton Orient FC Academy and community coaches as part of their enrichment programme. This course provides you with an opportunity to progress your sports studies using combined education on a non-traditional site, offering you the chance to train and play sport at a very high level. What will I Study: Anatomy and physiology for sport. Injury and the sports performer. Fitness for sport and exercise. Practical sports performance What can I do after the course: Progression to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma or employment within the Sports and Leisure industry.
