This course is a stepping stone to a career in the IT industry consisting of 18 units the BTEC Extended Diploma can be done in one of three strands, Networking and Systems Support IT in Business Software Development All three strands will do the following units. Communication and Employability Skills for IT Computer Systems Information Systems Project Planning with IT Database Design Spread sheet Modelling Client Side Customisation of Web Pages Software Design and Development Human Computer Interaction Object Oriented Programming The remaining eight units will then make up the specialised path with units such as Event Driven Programming Developing Computer Games Website Production Organisational Systems Security Data Analysis and Design IT Technical Support Computer Networks Installing and Upgrading Software
