Linear A Level Geography You need: - To be interested in Geography and investigating human and physical environments in greater depth. - An interest in the changing world and the inter-relationships between people and the environment in developing a sustainable future. - An interest in working beyond the classroom as fieldwork is a consistent element. Fieldwork Fieldwork is a compulsory requirement for A Level Geography. These requirements include at least two days fieldwork for AS level students, and four days (residential) for A Level students. We are proposing to follow the WJEC syllabus. This is subject to change, but all specifications include the same topics. Unit 1: Assessed by written examination (2hr 15 min) Two compulsory structured questions and data response: - Changing landscapes - Coastal landscapes Two compulsory structured questions and data response: - Changing places/rebranding places Unit 2: Assessed by written examination (2hr 15 min) Two compulsory structured questions and data response: - Global systems - Water and carbon cycles Two compulsory structured questions and data response: - Global governance and challenge - Processes and patterns of global migration - Global governance of the Earth's oceans This Geography course could lead to a university degree, either straight Geography or as a combined course (e.g. Environmental Science / Politics / Planning / Economics). It also is useful for careers in Law, Media, Planning, Sustainable Management, Museum and archive work, local and national government and industrial management; it is widely respected / valued by many employers.
