NOCN Award in Skills for Training, Employment and Personal Development

This course is designed to provide an entry point to assist in breaking down barriers to employment. It will enable learners to the gain an insight into the transferable skills they demonstrate in the majority of vocational areas and can support them in identifying and selecting an appropriate progression route. Course to cover; Exploring an Occupation Sector. There are four learning outcomes that will enable the learner to choose an occupational area and understand the local opportunities that are available therefore making this a viable option to explore. Health and Safety Procedures in the Workplace. We chose this unit as this is paramount to the learner understanding how to be healthy and safe at work and can be applied to all occupational areas. Problem Solving in the Workplace. The learning outcomes will enable the learner to adapt strategies to solve problems that could potentially occur in the work place. (Maths, English and Information Communication Technology will be embedded in to each unit)
