Physics - Linear A Level Y12 Level Physics (7407) The Y12 course is divided into 5 topics: 1. Measurements and their errors 2. Particles and radiation 3. Waves 4. Mechanics and materials 5. Electricity Options We currently plan to do the Turning Points option. Y12 and A-level courses include a variety of experimental techniques including design, construct and check circuits using DC power supplies, cells, and a range of circuit components, use laser or light source to investigate characteristics of light, including interference and diffraction, generate and measure waves, using microphone and loudspeaker, or ripple tank, or vibration transducer, or microwave / radio wave source Assessments Y12 2 written exams each 1 hour and 30 minutes. A-level 3 written papers each 2 hours. Practical skills are assessed as part of the written papers.
