The course aims to give a comprehensive yet flexible foundation course in Music Technology; ideal for the aspiring recording technician, composer or producer. Course overview AS: Unit 1: Portfolio Students will produce an audio CD containing three tracks of work. They will also produce a log book. The work is to be completed under controlled conditions between the issue of the stimulus material in September and the submission date. Task 1A: The sequenced realised performance will be based on a recording of a piece of music specified by Edexcel (40 marks) Task 1B: Multi-track recording (40 marks). Students record a piece of their own choice. Unit 2: Listening and Analysing (80 marks). 1 hour 45 minutes listening examination. The style of questions will range across multiple choice, short answer and questions requiring a few sentences of continuous prose.
