This qualification covers all the skills and knowledge you will need to work in a range of Care or Health settings. It is flexible to suit all fields of health and social care',' as you can choose a pathway that suites your working role; e.g. working with people with a learning disability',' people with dementia or in a residential setting for the elderly The course will provide the opportunities to: - Gain evidence of the knowledge and principles of practice required for the achievement of the L2 Diploma - Provide guidance in the preparation for assessment and the submission of a portfolio of evidence of knowledge and practice You will need to complete 24 credits from the Mandatory Units',' which include issues related to: - Communication in health',' social care - Introduction to personal development - Introduction to equality and inclusion - Introduction to duty of care - Principles of safeguarding and protection - The role of the health and social care worker - Person centred approaches - Contribute to health and safety - Information in health and social care settings In addition you will need to complete an additional 22 credits',' taken from Units that are relevant to the pathway you have chosen to follow. Assessment of both practice and knowledge will take place in the workplace. You will also be asked to submit a portfolio of evidence. Entry Requirements: All learners must be working in a Health or Care setting for a minimum of 30 hours a week. You will need functional skills Level 2 in Maths and English or will have to achieve this during this course. Career Options: It is anticipated that learners will progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
