Duration : 2 years This course allows you to develop a range of creative and technical skills which are essential to building a successful future in the commercial graphic design industries. Your practical study will incorporate the use of many traditional fine art based principles and techniques as well as developing industry level digital design ability. You will explore digital and traditional illustration',' typography',' lettering',' editorial design and art history. Each design project you are set will further develop your understanding of and skills for the commercial and visual communication industries. You will also have the opportunity to work on live briefs with businesses and charities within the local community. The focus of the course is to equip you with a broad range of theoretical and practical skills',' as you learn about the graphic design industry. Entry Requirements: You need five GCSEs at grade C or above',' or equivalent',' including English language',' maths and an art and design subject at GCSE',' or Level 2 Diploma at merit or distinction with GCSE English and maths at Grade C. At an interview you will show us your portfolio of art',' design or photography work. You also need a positive recommendation or reference from your school/tutor. Career Options: After successful completion you can progress onto the Foundation Diploma or higher education.
