Duration : 2 years This course offers the opportunity for students who are keen to explore and develop their skills in photography. You will train in well-equipped photographic studios with professional equipment and up-to-date digital imaging software. You will develop creative',' technical and employability skills required for a successful career. Using digital SLRs and 35mm film cameras',' skills learned include film processing and printing in the darkroom and lighting techniques in the studios. Through focused project briefs you will develop a vocational understanding as well as the creative and technical skill base to ensure that your vision is captured with skill and imagination for a professional portfolio of photographs. As you develop on the course',' you will work on live briefs and gain valuable industry experience. This will include visits to exhibitions',' galleries and a good understanding of how the commercial world of photography works. While some materials and equipment are provided',' you will be expected to pay for most of your own equipment and materials',' most of which are available from the College Shop. There will also be a number of trips and visits throughout the course',' which will incur some costs. It is advisable but not essential that you have a DSLR. You will be required to purchase a portable hard drive ( 1 TB capacity minimum) - approximate costs will be œ60.00 During this year of the course there will also be additional trip fees of approximately œ30.00 Entry Requirements: You need five GCSEs at grade C or above',' including English and maths',' or a Level 2 Diploma (60 Credits) in a related subject at merit or distinction',' with plus GCSEs at grade C or above in English and maths. You will be invited to an interview where we will want to see a portfolio of your creative work that demonstrates your practical and creative skills.
