, This course is designed to be an introduction to screen, stencil and block printing techniques, exploring traditional methods of applying pattern onto fabric., , Students will investigate a range of materials and pattern-making techniques applied to a variety of textiles and make their own stencils and screens. The course will be delivered through a range of weekly tutored workshop-style sessions, including tutor demonstrations and samples at each stage., , You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and craftspeople and you will keep a sketchbook or notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress., , This course will be informative, experimental and fun., , , The class is suitable for those who are new to printing or have experience to a basic level and would like to learn a variety of techniques that they can use at home to create printed textiles. The main focus will be on introducing a variety of techniques at beginner level.
