Digital Imaging - Basic Editing and Enhancements using Photoshop Elements

This Photoshop Elements course covers digital imaging on a computer. At the end of the course you will be able to manipulate images on your computer using Photoshop Elements, a popular image creation and photo manipulation package. The course is taught via description, demonstration and hands-on practical work. Topics include: launching Photoshop Elements; the Toolbars; the Menu; scanning and re-touching photographs; manipulation of one or multiple images; using special effects; and creating slideshows and greetings cards., At the end of the course you should be able to: Use a digital imaging package to scan and re-touch photographs; manipulate an image without prompting; Demonstrate the use of special effects; and create and use a slideshow. People who own a digital camera, are experienced in using computers at a basic level and wish to learn how to manipulate digital photographs with the help of a PC. Previous successful attendance at a Beginners Computing course is highly desirable for computer novices.

Entry requirements

A pen and paper although handouts will be given. Own photos for use in projects would be helpful, either in hard copy, CD, or memory stick. If you are storing any data/images on transferrable data devices (memory sticks, portable hard drives, etc), please make sure that you have back-up files saved elsewhere and when removing devices have followed the 'safely removing hardware' guidelines on the PC.
