Drawing and Painting - Creative Projects in Art

The main emphasis of this course is on drawing and painting in a creative and experimental way, leading to an individual expression and approach to art. Exercises and projects will not always result in finished pieces but will focus on exploring a variety of not only practical techniques but ways of seeing, recording and approaching different subject matter., , By the end of the course, you should be able to:, • Demonstrate a creative and diverse appraoch to image making , • Use a variety of observational and practical skills to interpret a variety of subject matter, • Use appropriate methods to collect ideas and experiment using relevant materials and techniques, • Successfully review and evaluate your own work, • Research and evaluate the work of a variety of artists to inform your own work and development in project -based tasks. , , There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., , , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. Beginners and those with some experience.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook and a variety of pencils, charcoal, a putty rubber and a pen. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
