Landscape Painting - Summer School

If you are a complete beginner at painting landscapes or need a refresher, then this is the course for you. You will explore the subject of landscape through investigating the work of a range of artists and through exploring composition and different techniques in your work. You will have the opportunity to experiment and develop your own style through the creation of original pieces of artwork. As this is a summer course the weather should allow you to go out into the local area to produce drawings to use in the centre on at least one day., By the end of the course you will be able to:, Select from and use a range of methods of painting landscapes, Create depth in a landscape painting, Develop your compositional skills, Make reference to the work of other landscape artists, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. You should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
