Textiles - A Day of Applique

This sewing course will introduce you to the techniques and trick of producing beautiful composite images in fabric using machine appliqué techniques. You will begin by exploring the optimum setting on your machine to achieve the best results and experimenting with different stitch effects before sampling some tricky shapes and moving on to a design on a background to really test the process. Although the process can be applied to a variety of sewing projects we will attempt to complete a design in class suitable for a cushion panel. We suggest you bring your own machine if possible however, we do have some at the centre if you need one, just let us know beforehand. , , This Batik course is for everyone from beginners to those with some experience, who is interested in exploring textile processes.

Entry requirements

Your sewing machine and appliqué foot if you have one. A basic sewing kit of scissors, pins, needles etc. Black all purpose sewing thread.
