Calligraphy and Lettering - Improvers

This course can help you to develop and expand your calligraphic skills., By the end of the course you should be able to:, - Write the western alphabet in a new calligraphic hand, OR fine tune a calligraphic hand you've learned before and explore script variations, - write a complete sentence well in at least two pen sizes, with attention to even spacing, - Rule up correct guidelines for your project (e.g. a verse / poem , a quotation, a saying / proverb,, a haiku,.. ), - Use the cut-and-paste technique to create a balanced layout, - Use gouache successfully in the dip pen, on at least 2 different papers, - Work to relevant health and safety guidelines, , Some practice between sessions is recommended in order to make continuous progress., For those who have studied calligraphy for at least one whole year. It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

Students are responsible for the cost of their own equipment and materials. Please bring your usual calligraphy equipment to the first session, including: dip pens, black ink, cheap brush, water pot, pen rest, ruler, scissors, HB pencil. layout paper, 2 paper clips, masking tape, kitchen paper, notebook and ballpoint pen.
