Digital Photography - Beginners

Explore the basics of digital photography including camera use and functions, the variety of file types available and their different uses. Basic image manipulation in Adobe PhotoShop (LE) or similar, resizing, cropping, retouching, adding effects, image storage, scanning and output of images via inkjet. The edition of PhotoShop software used on this course may vary from your own. We do, however, aim to teach transferable skills that can be applied to a variety of applications. Everyone from beginners to experienced photographers who want to get to grips with digital photography and related imaging software. It is essential that Students are already confident computer users. Students will need to: Understand the potential benefit from the programme of study. Read and interpret tasks. Communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable. Manage their own time. Undertake critical reflection and evaluation. Be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance / develop personal skills.
