Cake Decorating - Beginners

In this Sugarcraft class for beginners you will be able to learn the skills to begin decorating cakes with confidence. , , By the end of the course you will learn some or all of the outcomes below:- , - how to colour sugarpaste and ice a round cake board using crimping and embossing techniques; , - how to marzipan and ice a round fruit cake; , - how to ice a round sponge cake; , - how to stack a two tier cake; , - how to add a ribbon trim; , - how to make a rose cone and rose leaves; , - how to make roses and assemble a small arrangement with rose leaves., , Please be aware that the items produced throughout this course are for educational purposes only, not for consumption. This course is suitable for those interested in learning how to decorate simple celebration cakes. It is suitable for beginners or students with some experience decorating cakes. A basic knowledge of baking and of the different types of icing might be helpful. Please note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity.

Entry requirements

Each week students will need to bring a notebook, pen, apron, camera (if you have one) and anti-bacterial wipes. Students will need to purchase their own icings and cakeboards and provide their own equipment (i.e. rolling pin/pallette knife etc). The tutor will contact students before the first session to let them know what they need.
