As well as being taken through camera settings students will also have things like White Balance, ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speeds explained. Students will download images and be tutored through the basic functions of Photoshop Elements, including cropping, colour and lighting adjustments. Students should finish the course with the confidence and understanding of how best to use their camera to take pictures in a variety of environments. The course will cover basic camera settings and functions, white balance and colour temperatures, techniques to improve portraits, depth of field, ISO and film speeds, photographing movement, using manual mode, and your own project work. For students who have their own digital SLR camera, bridge camera or digital range finders and would like to be able to use them more confidently. The course will focus on accessing the manual features of these types of cameras. The course is not appropriate for students with digital compact cameras or for beginners wishing to learn more about photography using automatic camera settings.
