Photography - Advanced

This course will teach you a commercial approach to photography over a 20 week period. You will learn how to design and take creative photographs which fulfill a brief and tell a story. The student will learn advanced techniques of exposure, light manipulation, studio lighting, night time exposures, painting with light, combining daylight and flash, white balance, RAW-Tiff, depth-saturation of colours, colour spectrum, identification of colours, time exposure, filters, getting the most out of different lenses and more. The course will look at ways of marketing photos.Please note that as well Tuesday evening classes this course includes some Saturday morning location shoots. The course will run continuously with no break for school holidays. , This course is for students who have experience and have completed a GCSE or other photographic course and would like to gain an insight into the skills and approach of the working photographer.

Entry requirements

A Single Lens Reflex (SLR) digital/manual camera with various lenses and accessories. A tripod, film if needed, notebook and pen. Please don't purchase any books or new equipment until you have consulted with the tutor. You will have to pay the cost of outside processing and travel to location shoots in the local area.
