Hand Knitting - Creative Knitting

This Creative knitting course will continue to develop and build on basic knitting skills and techniques. Students will work on small projects which will cover various topics including:- more complex stitch patterns, including cabling and lace knitting; reading knitting patterns/charts/symbols; colour work - Fair Isle or Intarsia; circular knitting; knitting with beads; knitted button holes; sewing up knitted garments using Mattress Stitch. By the end of the course you will be able to:, Read and understand basic patterns, symbols, charts and terminology., Understand how to work and produce various stitch patterns., Understand and be able to perform various knitting/crochet techniques., Work on a small textile project, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines, , This course is for those who have basic experience of knitting and following a pattern and wish to develop their knitting skills and techniques. It is not suitable for those who do not know how to knit.

You will need 4mm knitting needles and one 50g ball of DK yarn. The tutor will advise what other equipment will be needed in the first session.
