This is a beginners level watercolour course in Sevenoaks The focus is upon the development of drawing and watercolour painting skills, applied to the observation of plants. Students will benefit from the warmly supportive atmosphere., By the end of the course students should be able to :-, Demonstrate an understanding of patterns in plant growth and employ strategies to portray it visually , • Be able to use a wide range of tonal values, • Show some understanding of the technical process of mixing and matching colour , • Demonstrate an ability to use a range of basic watercolour techniques, including laying washes, wet in wet, and wet on dry, • Critically analyse own and each other's work during group critiques, , Students who enjoy painting flowers in watercolour

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and a couple of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
