Drawing and Painting - Beginners and Improvers

On this drawing and painting course at Sevenoaks students will be introduced to a range of drawing and painting techniques, aimed at building their knowledge and skills in a progressive, structured fashion. Observational skills will be developed throughout and students will learn fundamental principles of painting and drawing in a range of media including pencil, charcoal, ink, pastel, watercolour and acrylic. Sessions will initially be tutor led, leading to the opportunity for more self directed work in the sketchbooks as the course progresses. Any student wishing to develop their drawing and painting skills. It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak to the Programme Manager before you enrol.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
