This is a partnership course delivered by Maggie Meadows of Astor Community Theatre in Deal., Maggie Meadows has over twenty years experience of teaching Stained Glass, having run workshops and taught Post 16 students before joining Adult Education. 'I am always amazed at the diversity of students ambitions and the challenges that they set themselves.', Maggie's work can be found on display at the Astor Community Theatre and Burning Bush Gallery in Deal., At the end of the course students should be able to :, - cut and shape glass, - use grinding techniques confidently , - use soldering techniques, - be aware of Health and Safety, The course will also cover design, glass types, suppliers and installation of panels., Mosaic techniques using smaller sections of glass to produce coasters or wall pictures will also be looked at., This stained glass course in Deal at the Astor Theatre is for beginners and those who wish to refresh their skills or produce more in-depth projects both in 2D or 3D, using the copperfoil technique which was introduced by Louis Tiffany to produce more intricate pieces of work. , It is important to note that most craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.
