Oil Painting and Acrylics - Improvers

This course is a great opportunity to develop your experience and skills using these two media. Find out the techniques behind the great pieces and explore them for yourself. During this art course we will work with a range of materials and methods of painting, strategies for establishing and developing a body of work and learn about contemporary developments in painting., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, - Understand how to achieve three different painting techniques, - Identify subject matter of interest to you, - Collect reference material to explore a body of work, - Develop conscious strategies when embarking on a series of paintings., - Have greater confidence and independence in your working methods, - Be familiar with the work of a variety of contemporary , - Be aware of Health and Safety guidlines., Improvers and those with experience in this area.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils., You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices., If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
