This course will introduce you to abstract art, from its origins to the wide variety of approaches that have evolved. During the day, you will create your own abstract work to take home. There will be a strong emphasis on the use of experimental methods, and how materials, concepts and symbols contribute to making abstract work. The course will provide a stimulating workshop environment for anyone looking to try making abstract work for the first time and for those who wish to develop their drawing and painting ideas in this direction., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, Select and use a range of materials and methods., Recognise a variety of abstract styles., Make experimental abstract studies, drawings and/or paintings., Work to health and safety guidelines., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This course is suitable for those who want to find out more about abstract art and try making work with this approach. Both beginners and those with more experience are welcome.
