Drawing and Painting - Improvers

This Drawing and Painting course will focus on developing drawing and painting techniques with charcoal, pencil, pastels and acrylics. You will develop your understanding and awareness of art history and art contemporary practices whilst developing your skills. , You will develop your creative skills through a variety of subject matter in which you will be exploring and implementing own ideas to each particular project. , Students should have completed a Drawing and Painting for Beginners course or have some previous drawing and painting experience. You are advised to bring own art materials and sketchbook size A4 or A3 appropriate to the selected medium. , By the end of this course you should be able to:, 1. Demonstrate and develop techniques and skills relevant to the selected medium and specific subject , 2. Demonstrate skills and awareness of art practices by completing final drawings and paintings, 3. Demonstrate awareness of composition on specific projects, 4. Evaluate the successfulness of your own work and other student's work by contributing to critics, 5. Demonstrate awareness of working in accordance to relevant Health and Safety guidelines, For those who have a little experience or completed the Beginners Drawing and Painting course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
