UPDATED 20160412 14:15:35

This course aims to develop your skills in drawing and painting and enrich your ability to create expressive work in different media and projects. We begin by looking primarily at drawing, exploring the practical steps in interpreting subject matter through line, tone, texture and form. As you progress you will learn how to use colour and look at the basics of composition and design. You will be encouraged to explore your own chosen painting and drawing mediums (not oil paint), and to develop an individual responses to thematically based work based on a variety of subject matter which may include still life, flowers, natural objects and landscapes . This course provides a good introduction to drawing and painting processes for beginners, and allows those students with some experience to further develop their skills.
