This course aims to prepare you for employment and further training in the construction industry. Topics covered are those that are required for the Construction of buildings. These include use of hand tools and portable power tools. Skills covered can include: the fixing and fitting of: stairs, roofs, floors, cupboards, skirtings, doors and windows. The course is made up of 7 mandatory units and 3 additional compulsory units. Functional Skills: English, Maths and IT (if you do not already hold this qualification or GCSE at grade C or above). Enterprise activities, to prepare you for life outside college, helping you to find a job. You will have a personal tutor to help you on an individual basis to maximise your potential. All students are expected to participate in field trips organised by the College to help supplement your course.
